SALES AREA MANAGER

Location : Panamá, Panamá City

Reports to : VP Export Markets

Contract : Full-time and permanent position

YOUR ROLE @CHANEL

As one of our Sales Area Manager for the LATAM & CARIBE region, you will provide leadership, coordination of sales and marketing strategies, planning and operation implementation, in addition to financial and back-office responsibilities.

WHAT IMPACT YOU CAN CREATE AT CHANEL

- Commercial

·  Ensure net sales and wholesales are in line with Budget.
·  Verify client orders, sales rotation and stock levels
·  Present alternatives sales strategies to reach sales goal in case of unexpected trend occurs
·  Commercial conditions negotiation with all clients (margin, rebates, returns, among others)
·  Allocation and prime space negotiation for the brand
·  Review and approve all Advertising, Promotions and Demonstration (APD) expenses, including those invested locally
·  Obtain pre-pack order on new products and campaigns from distributors/clients and large retailers
·  Sell-out follow up to ensure budget accomplishment.
·  Approve and/or close points of sales to fit image requirements

- Financial

·  Responsible for P&L (including profitability) by client for the designated area as per overall objectives / strategy of the Brand.
·  Accountable for customer contribution targets of assigned area
·  Sales & APD forecasts
·  Allocate adequate PLV material to obtain visible promotion and successful sales, while respecting budgetary guidelines and constraints

- Marketing / Media / Training

·  Responsible for the implementation of the Marketing Plan within the area through close collaboration with respective Departments
·  Build up and implement media plan.
·  Coordinate media and production schedules with the respective department
·  Build up sales promotional plan as agreed with retailers, Distributor and VP
·  Monitor Make-Up Artist visits, training and other promotional events as needed.
·  Provide training assistance whenever necessary.
·  Work closely with Merchandising Team to ensure on time installation of counters and other promotional areas.
·  Work closely with the architecture department to make sure that all projects are executed in a timely manner.

- Leadership

·  Manage and motivate a back-office team (Sales Executives) as well as the field team (Brand Managers, BA’s, Supervisors, among others).
·  Recruit, evaluate and promote sales personnel, including assistant and merchandisers, in conjunction with VP
·  Supervise Sales Executives / Assistants to ensure orders are processed and shipped on-time
·  Responsible for the recruiting and hiring of Brand Managers and local sales personnel in conjunction with distributor/client
·  Responsible for trip reports, follow-up reports and POS project

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

·  2+ years of experience in management, developing markets, and negotiating with different clients at a regional level, preferably in the luxury and/or beauty industry.
·  Must be fluent both in English and Spanish. French would be a plus.
·  Ability to manage tough negotiations with different stakeholders.
·  Proficiency analyzing data and defining commercial strategies.
·  At least a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Administration, Marketing, Sales, Finance or any other related field.
·  Strategic thinker: Analytical and systemic, challenge the status quo, communicate the vision to inspire and engage.
·  Relationships-focused: Collaborative, partnering and influencing skills.
·  Ability to develop and empower people: Listening and empathy, feedback and coaching skills, performance management, delegation.

·  Also, demonstrable skills in organization, communication, teamwork, prioritization of tasks, results-oriented, people management, and advanced MS Office Suite.
