Organisation and Mission
Established in 2011, Fondation CHANEL aims to improve the economic and social conditions of women and adolescent girls around the world. As the barriers and discrimination women face are complex, the foundation believes in a multidimensional approach that can help demonstrate how gender is a cross-cutting issue through which it also address poverty, social exclusion and other critical challenges such as climate adaptation. The Fondation currently supports over 80 initiatives in 35 countries.
The main objectives of its current mission include:
· Philanthropy – With funds provided by CHANEL, the Fondation provides financial and technical support to international organisations, civil society and social businesses working with girls and women around the world.
· Corporate – The Fondation is a driving force of CHANEL’s social engagement and engages with CHANEL staff through its committed network of ambassadors. When appropriate, CHANEL staff also support Fondation’s partners through skills-based sponsorship.
· Sector - Fondation CHANEL is a centre of excellence in philanthropy, social action, coalitions/networks, international cooperation, and more specifically - gender equality. It provides a platform for advice, documentation, and discussion of best practices among its partners, its peers and other external stakeholders.
The role of this position within the organisation
As part of Fondation CHANEL’s International Programmes Team, the International Programme Officer will work collaboratively with the entire Programmes team and maintain a cross-functional relationship with the Operations Department (executive management, finance, administration, relations with the parent company, corporate social responsibility and communication).
The position requires regular contact with team members in France and the United States. It includes frequent domestic and international travel - approximately 30% of working time.

Missions and Responsibilities
Philanthropy: identification, selection and monitoring of initiatives
· As a member of the international programme team, support the implementation of the regional strategies.
· Organise call for proposals and/or actively identify initiatives to strengthen international portfolio.
· Analyse funding applications and provide technical support to management team during the selection process.
· Manage relationship with partners and monitor and evaluate UK and international initiatives, including management of key documents.
Corporate:
· Provide support to the company in areas of expertise.
· Engage with ambassadors and organise internal talks and events.
· Participate in the developing and execution of the Fondation's communication plan.
· Assist in the execution of skills sponsorship activities for relevant initiatives.
Sector: Providing internal expertise
· Provide expertise and contribute to discussions in areas of expertise.
· Coordinate cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications/skills sought
· Post graduate studies in social sciences, humanities, economics, international relations or other relevant subject.
· Extensive experience in philanthropy, international development or social action.
· Expertise in social and economic development, gender equality, economic inclusion and capacity building.
· Experience working in international organisation(s) and in partnership management/project management cycle. Field-experience desirable.
· Ability to network and work independently.
· Fluency in English and French. Other languages desirable.
· Willingness and ability to travel frequently (approximately 30% of working time).
