The WiSE (women in STEM excel) co-op program accelerates the development of future women leaders by providing a customized experience for participants:
• Participate in a week of onboarding and integration activities starting on your first day at CGI, activities include:
- Business etiquette workshop
- Foundations of business consulting workshops
- Developing your elevator pitch workshop
- Networking with peers across Canada
• Exposure to leaders through interactive sessions and a 1:1 mentorship with a CGI woman leader
• Obtain the ScaledAgile SAFe for Teams Certification: Technical Skills Agility (ScaledAgile)SAFe for Teams will teach you all about your role on an Agile team and how agile teams work with others as part of an agile release train. Members learn how to plan and execute work, how to apply Scaled Agile Framework® and Agile principles, and how to continuously improve
• Expand your network by participating in national and local social activities with other co-ops
• Develop your own learning plan by leveraging our e-learning platform
• Participate in professional development workshops focused on soft skill development
• Participate in an AI hackathon where the top team wins a grand prize
• Fast track to future new grad opportunities at CGI

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Developing front-end website in HTML5, CSS3 and third party frameworks.
• Designing user interactions on web pages using Typescript, Angular, JavaScript and Spring Framework.
• Developing back-end website applications in Java and Spring MVC.
• Creating servers and databases for functionality (Tomcat & Oracle / PostgreSQL).
• Ensuring cross-platform optimization for applications.
• Ensuring responsiveness of applications (Bootstrap / Angular Material).
• Working alongside graphic UX designers for web design features.
• Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
• Designing and developing APIs.
• Reading and understanding complex requirements.
• Meeting both technical and business needs.
• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
• Writing automated unit testing.
• Performing code reviews.
• Supporting the team in troubleshooting technical issues.
• Following coding standards and best practices.
• Contributing to continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Debugging and troubleshooting application problems.
• Providing status updates to the Release Manager/Scrum Master.
• Showing demo of the developed features.
• Participating in Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective and Backlog refinement meetings.

• Must be in a Co-op Accredited program.
• Studying Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, Typescript and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git/Bitbucket or Subversion.
• Knowledge about Data Structures.
• Strong desire to learn new technology, applications and business domains.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of data analysis.
• Ability to successfully multi-task.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Excel (Macros, Pivot Table, Vlookup, Conditional formatting, Graphs), Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Word.
• Good problem-solving skills.
