Position Description:
The Lead Systems Administrator is part of a team responsible for providing support for VA healthcare project-based systems infrastructures. Our primary charge is the support of the systems that our clients rely on for their own day to day healthcare operations and workflows.
he System Administrator should be well versed with a Microsoft Windows, VMWare, O365 and Azure based environment and will be responsible for the management and monitoring of both on-prem and cloud resources.
We are looking for an administrator that can not only troubleshoot and solve problems, but to also do a mix of escalated deployments, support, testing and integration projects. Someone that would rather create a process to fix an issue, rather than manually addressing the issue repeatedly. The right candidate will be comfortable starting a new project team and working to make sure we meet the client needs for support, incident and problem management.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Work to triage any incidents/issues to internal business units and/or sub-contractors and manage the communication and resolution process.
• Participate in all required telephone support for automation application, hardware, and system troubleshooting and analysis of software or third-party software and hardware deployed by CGI.
• Actively monitor ticketing systems and email for new support inquiries and requests. Respond to issues in a timely manner, communicate necessary information to relevant support teams & impacted staff, and document resolution.
• Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of systems and virtual infrastructure.
• Providing day-to-day technical knowledge on how to utilize the Automated Healthcare System.
• Ability to take ownership of issues, work independently or escalate as needed, and find creative ways to resolve problems.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Some experience in a both an AWS and Azure environments.
• Experience in a MS O365 environment.
• Experience in a Microsoft Windows, Active Directory based enterprise environment.
• Experience in a virtualized VMware environment.
• Working administrative knowledge of several core Microsoft applications (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows Server, GPOs) with deep expertise in at least one core service application.
• Prior experience with the creation and deployment of new Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, with both physical servers and cloud-based infrastructures.
• Some experience leading more junior administrators and directing/overseeing their work/ outcomes.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Experience with compliance standards and security best practices (ITILv3, NIST guidelines, CIS benchmarks, DISA STIGs, etc.) a plus, but not required.
• Experience implementing and maintaining application monitoring tools
• Experience scripting in a production environment.
• Hospital IT support a plus.
• Experience deploying COTS solution within the federal government a plus.
• Some software development experience, related to interfaces between COTS products a plus.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $50,800.00 - $119,200.00.
