This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) / client office 3 times per week - subject to change at any time.
Overview: This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining the ELK stack to collect, store, process, and analyze log data from various sources. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and related technologies. You will work closely with the development, operations, and security teams to ensure that the ELK stack is functioning efficiently and securely.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design and Implementation: Architect and deploy ELK stack solutions tailored to the needs of various projects and clients.
• Maintenance and Optimization: Regularly monitor and optimize the performance of the ELK stack to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Data Integration: Develop and manage data pipelines using Logstash to ingest data from diverse sources.
• Visualization: Create and maintain real-time dashboards in Kibana to provide actionable insights.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate ELK stack solutions into existing workflows.
• Security: Implement and maintain security best practices within the ELK stack environment.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to the ELK stack and its components.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the ELK stack architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and clients on ELK stack usage and best practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Experience: Proven experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or experience with API development.
• Dashboard Development: Expertise in creating real-time dashboards using Kibana.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a hybrid environment and adapt to changing schedules and requirements.
• Security Knowledge: Understanding of security best practices related to the ELK stack.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in Elasticsearch or related technologies.
• Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Automation: Familiarity with automation tools and scripting.
