Solution Architect (Wealth/ Asset Management)

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 1 days per week subject to change at any time. 

As a Solution Architect for the Wealth and Asset Management Fund Accounting platform, you will lead end-to-end solution architecture and design, and support delivery for both product development and client implementations. You will act as the technical authority and bridge between product, engineering, and operations, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with strategic platform goals.

This role requires strong expertise in fund accounting, institutional investor asset management, and modern architecture patterns, along with the ability to influence stakeholders, guide distributed teams, and drive innovation across the platform lifecycle.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Solution Design
Own end-to-end solution architecture development for the Wealth and Asset Management Fund Accounting platform and client implementations
Design scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions aligned with business, regulatory, performance and operational requirements
Develop solution based on established architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across product and implementation teams
Lead solution reviews for new features, enhancements, change requests, and defect remediation
Technology Leadership
Provide technology leadership in solution development across engineering, QA, and operations teams
Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps
Ensure alignment amongst platform architecture, product architecture and client-specific implementations
Support RFPs/RFIs by providing technical solutioning and architecture inputs
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as Fund Accounting (FA) technical SME in client discussions, workshops, and solution presentations
Collaborate with clients to define solution architecture, integration patterns, and data flows
Present architecture decisions and trade-offs to senior stakeholders
Innovation
Champion adoption of modern architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven, APIs, cloud-native)
Drive innovation in areas such as AI/GenAI, data platforms, and digital assets (tokenization)
Evaluate and onboard new tools, platforms, and vendors
Operations, Risk & Governance
Ensure robust support, maintenance, and post-production stability of the platform
Proactively identify and mitigate technical and operational risks
Oversee release management, deployment strategies, and lifecycle governance
Manage vendor engagements and technology dependencies

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Domain Expertise
Strong experience in Fund Accounting/Administration (IBOR and ABOR)
Deep understanding of fund lifecycle, NAV calculations, securities, and financial data flows
Technical Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL, and data modelling
Proven expertise in:
Microservices & SOA architectures
API design & integration patterns
Event-driven and distributed systems
High availability, scalability, and performance engineering
Strong understanding of secure enterprise application design and regulatory compliance
Leadership & Delivery
Proven ability to lead architecture and solution delivery across complex, distributed teams
Experience supporting RFP/RFI technical solutioning

Strong understanding of SDLC, including:
Solution design and development
QA & testing strategies
Release & deployment management
Production support models
Ability to drive change and influence stakeholders in large organizations

Soft Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills (client-facing)
Strong facilitation and decision-making abilities
Ability to work effectively across geographically distributed teams

Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with MPower or other industry Fund Accounting platforms
Relevant financial or securities certifications
Exposure to:
AI / ML / GenAI / AI agents
Asset tokenization / digital assets
Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Data pipelines & streaming (Kafka, NiFi, Airflow, Temporal)
Serverless and event-driven architectures
Cloud-native design principles

"CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115,000–$165,000. This role is an existing vacancy."
