The Senior Scrum Master will help guide and mentor a team of dedicated experts, drawing on CGI’s global capabilities as well as their own experience, to lead the Scrum team in delivering a product or solution in accordance with Agile values and principles and the project’s objectives, timelines, scope and budget. The Senior Scrum Master acts as facilitator for the team and supports the Product Owner.
The person joining this team will become a member of the local Agile practice and help to establish and grow Agile, Scrum and DevOps within the BC region for CGI, applying expertise and experience to both client initiatives and, where appropriate, mentoring other team members.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Leading/participating in ceremonies and daily scrums
• Support the team during iteration
• Remove obstacles that prevent the team from achieving the iteration goals
• Facilitate team meetings and sessions with the team and client
• Measure and monitor the velocity of the team, planning accordingly
• Manage project timelines, scope, budget, issues and risks according to defined process, or collaborating with the project’s Project Manager to manage these items
• Provide status reports on team accomplishments, story points, velocity
• Accompany the team in the estimation and division of tasks
• Support the Product Owner in maintaining the Product Backlog
• Assist the Product Owner in completing the delivery plan
• Manage or assist in the management of maintenance and evolution of solution through the Product Backlog and CI/CD pipeline, if appropriate

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of Scrum Master, Project management, or Agile experience
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a technical or business environment

Education:

• Post Secondary Education in a technical or business discipline
• Scrum Master Certification

Desired technical skills:

• Experience in waterfall and other non-agile project methodologies
• Technical background or experience in SDLC
• Experience with Atlassian application suite
• Experience in SAFe and scaled agile

Desired business skills:

• Experience in guiding team members new to agile methodology
• Experience in the public sector, ideally the health sector

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certification. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $70,000 - $130,000.
