Job Description: 

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior GCP Cloud Data Engineer with strong hands on experience in GCP data services, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and Terraform. The candidate will lead the design and implementation of scalable data solutions for HR analytics, ensure data quality, and provide technical guidance to the internal team.
Key Responsibilities

. 6+ years experience in Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for HR analytics use cases, including ingestion from multiple source systems and APIs
. Architect and build data processing pipelines, including flattening and transforming nested and complex datasets
. Design data storage and warehousing schemas, including data models optimized for analytics and reporting
. Continuously identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure systems run cost effectively
. Lead technical decisions on GCP services, advising which tools and services are appropriate for the use case
. Implement infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and guide best practices
. Manage historical data loads, including validation, reconciliation, and row‑count checks between source and target systems
. Establish data quality controls, checks, and balances prior to production deployment
. Interface with legacy systems (SQLServer, Terradata, MySQL)
. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal team members who will support implementation

Required Skills & Experience

. Strong hands on experience with GCP data engineering, particularly BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer.
. Proven experience designing and building data pipelines and ETL/ELT architecture
. Experience working with API‑based and nested datasets, including transformation and flattening
. Strong hands on experience with Terraform for GCP infrastructure provisioning, including modules and state management.
. Working knowledge of Python for data engineering tasks
. Experience with data validation, historical data migration, reconciliation, and performance optimization.
. Working knowledge of GCP IAM, security, and cost optimization.
. Ability to independently lead technical decisions and mentor team members.
. Preferred professional level certification in Google cloud data engineering and cloud architecture

Good to Have

. Familiarity with Vertex AI and GCP machine learning capabilities.
. Exposure to CI/CD and automated infrastructure deployments.
