Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Senior AI/DevOps Engineer to join a fast-paced technology team supporting a Corporate Risk and Compliance organization within a large financial services environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives on building end to end AI powered solutions from requirements through production deployment while also owning the cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes that support them.
You'll work in a primarily Python codebase, building GenAI powered assistants, intelligent automation, and data driven applications on AWS. This isn't a role for someone who wants to build foundational LLMs from scratch — it's for an engineer who knows how to apply existing AI technologies (Lang Chain, Lang Graph, RAG, vector databases, AI agents) to solve real business problems in a regulated, high-stakes environment.
Beyond the technical work, you'll be expected to operate independently, take ownership of initiatives, and collaborate closely with a small, established, self-sufficient team. Strong communication and accountability matter just as much as technical depth here.
This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

. 5+ years independent Python development — you can write, debug, review, and optimize code without hand holding
. Solid SQL skills and comfort working with financial data, KPIs, and reporting requirements
. Deep AWS experience in a cloud native environment (this is an AWS first shop)
. Practical experience building and deploying AI/GenAI applications — think Lang Chain, Lang Graph, RAG pipelines, vector databases, embedding models, and multi agent workflows
. Working knowledge of how LLM based systems function, and how to apply them effectively (not a requirement to build LLMs from scratch)
. Hands on DevOps experience: CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI), containerization (Docker, ECS/EKS), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
. Experience with large scale data processing and transformation, ideally including Redshift
. Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools like CloudWatch or Splunk
. Comfortable working with REST/SOAP/Fast API integrations for system-to-system communication
. A track record of owning problems end to end and communicating well with both technical and business stakeholders

Desired Skillset:

. front end experience (React or Angular)

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.​

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $123,200.00.
