Position Description
CGI is currently hiring an Oil and Gas Revenue Accountant responsible for Property Accounting, Lease Administration, Revenue Accounting, and Production Analysis who has strong knowledge and experience with Land Administration. This position is an individual contributor position in our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Team within the Oil and Gas Practice.
The Oil and Gas Revenue Accountant will also be involved with special analysis and reconciliation for general accounting and assist with preparation of internal and external financial packages. Additionally, they will be involved with the technical and implementation support for various oil and gas accounting systems.
This position is for a very hands-on revenue accountant with experience in the following: revenue accounting, joint interest expense, capital expenditure analysis, accounts receivable, balance sheet account reconciliations, and profit and loss variance explanations.
The Revenue Accountant may be asked to perform daily, weekly, and monthly audits. They also assist during quarterly financial reviews and annual audits. This includes month-end closing and reporting responsibilities. The Revenue Accountant will often oversee monitoring of accounts payable and receivable, as well as the technical accounting analysis.
In addition, strong mentoring skills are required for this role as they will occasionally assist with training new team members, interns, and assisting with interviewing new team members during the recruiting process as necessary.
Previous experience working as a consultant on site at a client’s office is extremely helpful as well. The position will require someone with excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.
This is an integral position within CGI’s Oil and Gas Practice in Dallas, TX. Minimal travel regionally may be required as needed. This position is located in our Dallas office near the Galleria and requires the Oil and Gas Revenue Accountant to sit on site 5 days a week. Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities:

? Responsible for functioning as an experienced Revenue Accountant for our Oil and Gas consulting practice. The department provides outsourcing services for approximately 15,000 oil and gas properties.

? Responsible for revenue accounting functions, and general accounting functions for the entire back office accounting function of the outsourcing business segment (BPO – Business Process Outsourcing) for CGI’s Oil and Gas consulting practice. The Accounting BPO team generates $400K+ in client billings per month.

? Provide overall accounting outsourcing services for oil & gas clients which includes financial reporting, revenue distributions, joint interest billings, accounts payable, property administration, partnership accounting, governmental reporting and due diligence work on acquisitions/divestitures.

? Deliver accurate and timely financials and drive cross-functional performance improvement.?

? Prepare and analyze operating expenses, capex, and workover actual and estimates variance explanations to support monthly financial close and reporting ?

? Compliance and review of joint operating agreements in accordance with GAAP and COPAS policies and procedures ?

? Domestic and international time-writing to ensure appropriate charge-outs to partners ?

? Appropriate JV allocations, Overhead, and Cutback ?

? Issue and reconcile cash calls ?

? Track and up-date payouts ?

? Ensuring compliance of all tasks with relevant Accounting standards and SOX controls ?

? Reviewing Balance Sheet account reconciliations and propose adjustments as needed ?

? Monthly sign-off of trial balances and financial statements ?

? Building software system super-user knowledge and system support ?

? Liaising with end clients and assist as an accounting expert for lead software enhancement projects as needed Required qualifications to be successful in this role
? Overall 5+ years’ of work experience in Oil and Gas Accounting

? 5 years’ of Revenue Accounting experience

? 3+ years’ of exposure to Oil and Gas Accounting, Joint Interest Billing, and Audits

? 3+ years’ of experience with Onshore and Offshore properties (Operated and Non-Operated) preferred

? Solid MS Office Suite skills (Excel/Word, etc.)

? Familiar with Joint Operating Agreements for Onshore and Offshore preferred

? Understand COPAS and Sarbanes Oxley compliance documentations

? 3+ years’ of working knowledge of the oil and gas industry including drilling, completion, and production activities

? Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills

? Consulting experience a plus, but not required

? Demonstrated ability to effectively partner to achieve business results through teamwork.

? Ability to use best judgement to problem solve and/or elevate concerns appropriately.

? Desire and ability to successfully work within a fast paced and dynamic work environment.

? Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
Education:

? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
