Oracle PL/SQL / Informatica Developer

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer to join a high performing technology team supporting large scale, business critical applications. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, data analysis, data modelling, ETL/batch processing, and database performance optimization.

This role requires a strong software engineering mindset, with an emphasis on building scalable, maintainable, well tested solutions. The individual will work closely with developers, architects, analysts, product partners, and other technology teams within an Agile delivery environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

. Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL solutions supporting enterprise applications.
. Perform data analysis and data modelling to support new and existing application capabilities.
. Design and implement data APIs, stored procedures, packages, functions, and other database components.
. Analyze and optimize database queries and applications through effective performance tuning.
. Develop and maintain enterprise batch processing and ETL workflows using technologies such as Informatica and AutoSys.
. Apply fundamental software and database design principles to develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications.
. Follow Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) practices and develop automated tests for database code.
. Write clean, testable, readable, high performing, and easily maintainable code.
. Collaborate with application development teams and understand how database solutions interact with Java, messaging technologies, web containers, APIs, and other middleware components.
. Participate actively in an Agile software delivery environment, including planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
. Work within established CI/CD processes and contribute to improving automated build, testing, and deployment practices.
. Translate business requirements, storyboards, and use cases into effective technical solutions.
. Troubleshoot complex technical and data related issues using strong analytical and problem solving skills.
. Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering and database development best practices.
. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, helping them achieve strong performance and continued professional growth.

Required Qualifications

. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.
. Demonstrated experience with data analysis, data modelling, database design, and performance tuning.
. Experience developing and supporting batch processing and ETL solutions, preferably using Informatica and AutoSys.
. Strong understanding of relational databases and scalable application design principles.
. Experience with automated testing and ATDD or similar test driven development practices.
. Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
. Understanding of CI/CD concepts, processes, and tools.
. Familiarity with mid tier/application technologies such as Java, messaging platforms, web containers, and APIs.
. Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders.
. Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to other team members.

Nice to Have

. Experience with cloud based data technologies, particularly Snowflake and AWS S3.
. Experience modernizing or migrating traditional Oracle/database workloads to cloud based platforms.
. Exposure to enterprise financial services or other large scale, highly regulated environments.
. Experience working with distributed application architectures and complex enterprise data ecosystems.
