Oracle Database Administrator with Basic Linux Administration Knowledge

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a solid understanding of Linux systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security, along with providing basic L1 and L2 support for Linux server management. This hybrid role will focus on both database administration and supporting Linux environments at a basic level.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Administer and manage Oracle databases
- Perform routine database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
- Optimize Oracle database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Manage database security, including user management and data access controls.
- Collaborate with development teams to design efficient database schemas and queries.
- Provide L1 and L2 support for Linux Server environments (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Assist in basic Linux server tasks such as patches, updates, and user account management.
- Automate routine database tasks and Linux system maintenance using scripting tools (e.g., Shell, Python).
- Monitor Linux systems and Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with both Oracle databases and Linux servers.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Oracle database administration.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Experience with Oracle database performance tuning, query optimization, and data migration.
- Familiarity with Linux system administration tasks such as patching, user management, and file system maintenance.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise manager
- Experience with Cloud Control
- Experience with other DB as PostgreSQL
- Experience with Oracle database backup and recovery procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills for both database and Linux-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2 or higher).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) or Oracle Data Guard.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of Oracle high availability configurations and clustering.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and certifications.
