Acting as a junior project manager/PCO, you will be responsible to formalize, communicate and enforce project information, documentation, daily activities and act as a bridge between various project members and the client. You have a solid grasp of IT project management and quality methodologies, risk management and bring at least three years of project related experience.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience administering multiple small to medium concurrent projects, working in a matrix organization and interacting with clients:
- Support the development team in preparing and maintaining project management deliverables as they are tailored to each project according to the certified internal process These include, but are not limited to, project charter, plan (WBS), budget, schedule, change management, risk management, issue management, configuration management, QA management, status reporting, etc.
- Initiate, conduct, control and close projects with minimal direction;
- Work with technical resources, business analysts and other project managers and/or project control officers in estimating, defining, confirming and implementing project objectives
- Assist in the creation of Project Mandates, Change Requests and Project Management Plans
- Liaise with the client and stakeholders throughout the lifespan of a project in order to ensure that everyone is abreast of project status, risks mitigation and outstanding issues
- Ensure that all deliverables to the client (i.e. all documentation) are defined and presented according to CGI quality standards
- Perform accurate tracking of the project schedule and budget, proactively applying corrective actions/measures when necessary
- Create regular project status reports for the client, stakeholder and internal team members
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate possesses a high degree of professionalism, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and has strong technical knowledge:
- Certificate, diploma, degree or work related experience in project management, telecom, programming or technology knowledge and experience with IT development and consulting
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of general IT experience, as a junior project manager and/or as a project control officer
- Prior experience defining, designing and implementing qualitative processes
- Good understanding/knowledge of telecom and/or Billing domain
- Ability to work autonomously and possess strong decision making skills
- Self-motivated person with dedication and perseverance
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Superior communication skills for interacting with clients and team members in both English and French
- Mastery of English and French verbally and written is a must
- Excellent estimation and scheduling skills
- Proven problem solving skills in a technical environment
- Ability to meet company and business unit's project management objectives and goals
- Highly motivated, with a strong desire to work on new technology based solutions
- Ability to manage client and team member expectations
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and on multiple projects at the same time
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint Project, Visio and other project management related applications
- Ability to understand complex architectural, networking and software issues
- Good knowledge of Agile methodology
- Current knowledge of ISO standards or CGI’s CPMF, quality and project management frameworks is a definite asset
