Junior Penetration Tester

Position Description
CGI is seeking an experienced and highly motivated security professional to help CGI protect it and its client’s intellectual property within the US Commercial and Industry Solutions business unit. The Junior Penetration Tester will be a part of a dynamic team and will interact with other CGI information security professionals, IT, and business stakeholders to support information security tasks. The candidate is a team player, working with multiple project teams in a fast-paced environment, able to complete tasks independently and report to management.

• Perform hands-on penetration testing (blackbox / greybox / whitebox testing) to help improve the security posture of the organization and clients

• Recommend process improvements for the internal security organization

• Interface with clients to determine and understand their needs

• Perform ad hoc Vulnerability Assessments

• Perform analysis and testing to verify the strengths and weaknesses of IT environments utilizing commercial and open source security testing tools

• Assist with the development of remediation recommendations for identified findings

• Identify and clearly articulate (written and verbal) findings to senior management and clients

Your future duties and responsibilities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Required Skills:

• 1 - 2 years of Information Security experience and a Bachelor's Degree (additional experience can be substituted in lieu of education)

• Have an understanding of common security vulnerabilities such as SQLi, XSS, CSRF, and others

• Scripting skills (Bash / Python / Perl / Ruby)

• Experience with Penetration Testing tools such as Core Impact, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Burp Suite, Nessus, AppSpider, Nmap, and OWASP ZAP

Desired Skills:

• Security relevant certifications: Security+, CASP, CEH, OSCP, GPEN/GWAPT

• Development and/or testing background

• Demonstrated real world penetration testing experience

• Technical background in networking/system administration, security testing or related fields

o Configuration and Security experience with firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs

• Knowledge of security and architecture testing and development frameworks, such as the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM), the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES), Information Systems Security Assessment Framework (ISSAF), and NIST SP 800-115

• Ability to travel as needed
