Skill: Java Software Engineer (Backend Microservices)
Type: FTE
Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai
Exp:5 to 7 yrs

Your future duties and responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join Hyatt’s technology delivery team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend microservices that power Hyatt’s core hospitality platforms, including reservation systems, loyalty programs, and guest-facing APIs.

You will operate in a cloud-native, event-driven ecosystem, where services communicate using Kafka-based messaging. Working within a Scrum team, you will collaborate closely with SDETs, QA engineers, and Business Analysts to deliver high-quality features in two-week sprints.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices using modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot)
• Build scalable, resilient systems in an event-driven architecture using Kafka
• Develop and expose RESTful APIs for internal and external consumers
• Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability through best practices and testing
• Take end-to-end ownership: from design → development → deployment → production support
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
• Collaborate with SDETs and QA to embed testability and automation
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable fixes

• Required Qualifications
• Strong experience in Java development (8+), Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven design
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and API design principles
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
