Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a IT Consultant - IaaS, Backup & Storage Systems (w/m/d), you will ensure the stability, security, and performance of our clients Windows Server and SQL Server database systems as part of our Managed Services team. Your responsibilities include:
• Take responsibility for the third-level operation of high-availability infrastructure systems in various data centres.
• Take responsibility for projects, particularly the introduction of new technologies and products in the backup/storage environment.
• Active participation in tendering situations
• Automation and further development of solutionsManaging incidents and problems to maintain stable service operations
• Performing root cause analysis and implementing optimization measures
• Proactively monitoring of the storage and backup infrastructure
• Solution design of high available environments
• Administering and hardening to best practices
• implementing security measures
• Planning and executing regular patch rollouts
• Maintaining operational documentation and supporting knowledge transfer to 2nd level teams
• Providing technical support to colleagues and customers
• Managing hardware and software releases and LifeCycle Management
• Ensuring Storage & Backup Infrastructure Health and integrity
• Monitoring of job success
• Capacity Monitoring
• Maintaining security, compliance and DR readiness

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Windows Server engineer and Veeam backup engineer in an enterprise environment
• Ability to familiarise yourself with complex IT systems and a high affinity for new technologies
• Responsible and independent way of working
• Completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist or a university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a relevant field
• Good Knowledge in Windows Server incl. active directory and Linux,
• Strong knowledge of technologies like
o DELL Data Domain
o DELL Unity with Metro Nodes
o Dell MExxxx storages
o Brocade FC Switches
o Dell OME
o VEEAM Backup
• Familiarity with PKI, Kerberos, TLS/SSL, IIS, Apache, Tomcat
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience in documenting processes
• Willingness to provide on-call support
• Ability to work in compliance with data security requirements and provide a clean criminal record certificate (renewed every 2 years)

Nice to have:
• German language skills at B2 or higher
• Experience with hybrid identity solutions and cloud integration (Azure AD, Entra Connect)
• Knowledge of enterprise-grade monitoring and security tools (Greenbone, Sentinel)
• PowerShell, Active Directory, Server Cluster, Hyper V, DNS/DHCP, VPN
• UPS (Powerchute)
• automation (Ansible, Terraform)
