We are searching for a Privacy and Security Consultant to join our team supporting a key client.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The Privacy and security Consultant guides authorized custodians through the process to successfully meet required privacy and security requirements, in compliance with legislative standards:

• Guide authorized custodians in developing and submitting privacy and impact assessments
• Support custodians in completing, reviewing and submission of organization readiness assessments
• Conduct assessments and readiness checks for authorized custodians
• Provide expert guidance in completing information manager agreements, from initiation through to resolution of any rejected submissions
• Adhere to established protocols and communicate updates to the project team
• Collaborate with other project teams to provide support as needed
• Contribute to meetings about related projects and initiatives
• Update processes and templates to ensure compliance and alignment

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Minimum of 3 years experience with the following is required:

• Conducting testing and quality assurance of IT solutions, preferably as they relate to information privacy and security
• Providing client training and support for diverse client groups
• Developing reports and dashboards
• Creating training materials or learning management content
• Using software tools to track and manage client support issues

• Investigating and resolving issues related to data quality and integrity
• Experience with systems development methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile)
• Performing data and process modeling and analyzing large data sets
• Implementing privacy and security practices (e.g., user audit) in a complex environment
• Investigating business or technical problems and identifying potential solutions
• Working with system stakeholders in the development, implementation, or operations of clinical or business information systems
• Application of the principles of the HIA

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, health sector, privacy, security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Information Access and Privacy Certification is a strong asset

• Critical thinking skills – ability to effectively analyze and diagnose issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Successful track record of managing competing priorities in a client-focused IT environment
• High level of attention to detail to support accurate and efficient assessment processes
• Results-oriented with strong customer relationship management skills
• Professional maturity with the ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach
