Position Description:
As a Flight Software Engineer, you will be working with a leading satellite and spacecraft component manufacturing company with an opportunity to work on a variety of space based programs.
This position can be located remotely anywhere in the U.S.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
CGI is looking for experienced Flight Software Engineers, across a number of experience levels, to develop embedded software. Selected candidates will work with manual sequencer, momentum error computation, control laws, global estimator, AWS Kernels, layer 3 Network architecture and a variety of additional technologies (proficiency not required across all areas). You would be expected to be proficient in C/C++ and Ada. It is desirable that the candidate have experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system. Candidates must be open to building and executing a robust testing schema throughout a project’s lifecycle.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Candidates applying to this position should have a Bachelor’s degree, or greater, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent field with significant software development experience.
It is possible that occasional travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is possible that travel will be both within and outside the continental United States.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Ada 95
C/C++
Embedded real-time C++ software development on embedded real-time operating system (RTOS)
Organizational skills: Ability to work with the information gathered during requirements analysis and to exercise flexibility with changing business priorities
Time Management skills: Ability to work in a fast paced team environment and consistently meet deadlines. Work independently with minimal supervision
Agile processes and practices
C++ cross-compiler to microprocessor
Debugging using telemetry, data collection & data reduction
Experience with core Flight System (cFS)
Full life-cycle development
Git - source code versioning
Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC)
Jira - issue tracking and Agile project management
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $190,100.00.
