We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we're still growing. We are looking for Project Control Officer to support Business Operations in our growing team. We are offering a chance to work with our team of experience professionals, who are responsible for maintaining the standards of project management and providing high-value support to our Business Unit. This is your opportunity to learn about business operations and project management in an advanced business environment. You will work with CGI Consultants, Directors and Executives on a full range of business operations, program management and resourcing activities/tasks.

In an effort to foster collaboration and partner with clients, co-op students will be required to be in the office multiple times a week.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

What You’ll Do:
• Help collect, clean, and prepare data for AI and analytics projects.
• Build simple ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows to move and shape data.
• Work with Python and SQL to explore and process datasets.
• Support data scientists and developers by getting the right data to the right place.
• Try out tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse Analytics.
• Document what you build so others can learn from it too.
• Keep an eye on new trends in AI, data, and cloud technology.

What You Bring:
• Enrolled in a Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related degree.
• Comfortable coding with Python (pandas, numpy) and writing basic SQL queries.
• Understands basics of AI/ML (what models are and why data matters).
• Eager to learn new cloud and big data tools.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Clear and professional communication skills.

It’s a Bonus If You Know:
• Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Data visualization with Power BI, matplotlib, or seaborn.
• Big data tools like Spark or Delta Lake.
• APIs and basic software development practices.
• Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Hugging Face, LangChain).

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Ability to successfully multi-task and work with nominal supervision on your own and in a team environment
- High Energy and Collaborative
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
