Digital Communications Specialist
Position Description
The Digital Communications Specialist will work with the Canada Marketing and Communications team to develop digital communications strategies and content campaigns that advance business goals and align with the CGI brand program. Your future duties and responsibilities
• Support the global digital team in the management and evolution of CGI’s digital channels, developing processes and suggesting enhancements to increase visitor engagement on CGI.com and creating posts to raise awareness of CGI across external social media
• Develop digital best practices, programs and initiatives based on industry, market, competitive and trend analysis and share these best practices SBU and global teams
• Support the promotion of local and global offerings, campaigns, thought leadership and subject matter experts through the expert use of digital and social channels and search engine optimization
• Maintain and monitor Canadian-based social and digital media channels to ensure CGI’s brand is protected and promoted; collaborate with global and SBU-level media team as required
• Set KPIs, monitor, analyze and report on digital activities
• Coach marketing & communication and operations colleagues and educate BU teams on social media best practices including effective social sharing and content amplification
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
• Country site metrics related to number of unique visitors coming directly and from search engines and referring sites
• Conversion rate of visitors to contacts for more information
• Metrics and engagement on social media channels
• Internal client and global team feedback Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 2 – 5 years of experience delivering effective digital and social media communications programs through website, online and social media channels
• Advanced knowledge of using CMS to manage and maintain website content (Drupal experience is highly desirable…)
• MS Office Suite, (working knowledge of HTML is desirable but not essential).
• In-depth understanding of using social media platforms in support of B2B objectives, in particular Linked In, Twitter and Facebook
• Keen but pragmatic interest in next-generation B2B digital and social media evolution and trends
• Proven understanding of digital communications strategies and techniques in such areas as driving traffic through search engine rankings, referring sites and social media “stickiness”
• Excellent communication skills with good verbal and copywriting skills. Strong English-language skills required, French-language skills highly desirable
• Strong design instincts and ability to leverage graphics to prepare compelling and user-friendly posts and visuals that engage users
• Good project management skills to coordinate multiple initiatives with global and local communications and marketing teams
