Data Architect – GCP / Data Warehouse Migration

Position Description:
The Data Architect will design and govern data models, transformations, and integration patterns for migrating Data Hub to BigQuery and enabling analytics via Power BI.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design logical and physical data models (Bronze/Silver/Gold) in BigQuery
• Translate SQL based Data Hub schemas and business rules into GCP models (1:1 where required)
• Define transformation patterns (DBT/Dataform), data quality checks, and lineage
• Design ingestion strategies for IDR (batch/CDC) and Salesforce integration
• Define partitioning, clustering, and performance optimization strategies
• Support semantic layer design for Power BI (views, aggregates, RLS approach)
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 7+ years in data architecture / data modeling
• Strong SQL and experience with BigQuery (or similar columnar warehouses)
• Experience with data warehouse migrations and transformation design
• Knowledge of data governance (metadata, classification, lineage)
• Familiarity with DBT/Dataform and Airflow/Composer
Nice to Have
• Experience with Dataplex/Data Catalog
• Experience with Salesforce data integration
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical thinking and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with business and engineering teams
• Agile delivery experience
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is a future opportunity.
