Position Description:
Our local team is designing, deploying and supporting local applications for the Credit Risk domain. The current role is based in Montreal and the resource will join a 10-member team (5 Montreal and 4 NY).
There are several applications and components. These include our ‘As-Agent’ process, which used to allocate counterparty risk exposure to underlying principal lenders and is part of a global risk chain for secured financing transactions. Technically, the features are implemented into an in-house ETL, and python scripts with results in PowerBI. Other components with projects this year are for Model Risk Management, Shared National Credits reporting for the FRB, and new controls and reports for the RISQ team responsible for monitoring the risk exposures for all clients.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
What will be your day-to-day?
In this context, you will oversee the following missions:
-Provide functional support to risk analysts and front officers on credit risk processes
-Gather requirements from business partners and manage them according to the priorities given by the Product Owner
-Perform data analysis – in the context of understanding requirements, defining solutions, testing, etc.
-Communicate findings effectively to users and direct management so that they can facilitate appropriate solutions.
-Collaborate with users and other business analysts to understand user needs and translate requirements into solutions
-Write functional specifications and document system and process workflows
-Ensure that the agile and continuous delivery methodology is followed
-Ensure that the features are properly tested and that the artifacts are produced
-Coordinate and carry out the phases in the different environments and present the test results to users
-Collaborate closely with people in other locations (US, France, India)

What does it take to get the job?
-You have at least one experience in a financial institution as Business Analyst
-You are comfortable acting as the point of contact for business clients and to understand/document the needs of the company and their prioritieYou have a strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to the team
-You exhibit curiosity, continuously seeking to understand business challenges and uncover solutions
-You can think critically and creatively to explore multiple approaches in solving problems
-You can read (and ideally perform small updates) to Python scripts
-English required (French would be considered an asset)
The Functional and Technical Skills:
-Knowledge in Investment Banking
-Strong skill in writing technical documentations and structured emails
-Good working knowledge of SQL. Ability to write queries joining data across multiple tables for data analysis and testing. And the ability to read stored procedures during investigation.
-Experience with Python / scripting development
-Experience with PowerBI
The bonus skills:
-Experience with concepts and literature related to Credit and Counterparty Risk
-High level understanding of capital market products (secured financing transactions; derivatives) or corporate loans
-Knowledge of US or international financial regulations
-Experience with ETL
Experience in a support role in the financial service industry
LANGUAGE:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States. Practical experience in the financial industry (i.e., FO, MO, Risk, Compliance or Accounting)
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interactions with domestic and global clients.
