AWS Developer/Elastic Search Engineer

Position Description
CGI is looking for an AWS Developer/Elasticsearch Engineer to join the team in Windsor, CT. This AWS Application Developer will be a key contributor to our Services practice and will have the below responsibilities:

• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios

• Continuously improve software engineering practices

• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

• Write unit tests and automated acceptance tests.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsible for design, development, and implementation of Cloud solutions.

• Serve as senior technical resource in development team’s efforts to determine the needs of the business that will simplify and automate the applications as well as make them more efficient.

• Participate in the software development life cycle to ensure sound Cloud solutions are implemented.

• Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our customer's Amazon Web Services (AWS) foundational footprint.

• Work with application and architecture teams to conduct proof of concept (POC) and implement the design in production environment in AWS

• Elasticsearch experience to support the migration of several public websites with site search functionality from an internally-hosted, IDOL-based solution to a cloud-based Elasticsearch solution.

• Review coding done to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyze application for data integrity issues.

• Develop test protocols or plan for testing revised application and review test results.

• Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project

• May mentor less experienced technical staff; may use high end development tools to assist or facilitate development process.

• Development of automated solutions to monitor and support our software development and release processes

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Expertise in end to end implementation ELK Stack covering Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana

Expertise in Tuning and troubleshooting of Elastic search

Understanding of multiple indices, index aliases and cross-index operations.

Understanding configurations options

Understand basics of indexing and querying documents

Mandatory skills: - AWS Elastic Search.

Minimum Of 2 Years of AWS Experience

• Experience designing, developing, deploying, testing in AWS architecture

• Experience on AWS and its web service offering IAM, Cloud Formation, S3, EBS, Dynamo DB, Route53, API Gateway, Lambda, ELB and SNS/SQS.

• Proficiency on Configuring AWS Elastic Search Service and its indexing optimization techniques.

• Good understand on virtual networking system (called Virtual Private Cloud, AWS VPC)

• Good background in Linux/Unix administration.

• Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).

• Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, X-ray,Prometheus, and the ELK stack.

• Previous exposure to large-scale systems design.

• Good understanding of Dockers, Jenkins, CI/CD pipeline and Maven

• Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.

• Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.

• Past experience with the Serverless approaches using AWS Lambda, Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM).

• Good knowledge of Splunk, Kibana and Logstash and their integration with Cloud platform

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Bachelors / Master degree with 5 years of experience.
