Thematics Asset Management

Thematics Asset Management is based in Paris and manages over 3.0 bn USD of client assets across a focused range of global active thematic equity strategies. Thematics Asset Management is an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, one of the world’s largest asset management firms ($1.02 trillion / €898.2 billion AuM). The firm was set up by 6 partners in early 2019. Five of those partners are highly experienced portfolio managers that have an established reputation and proven track record in thematic investing. The firm is run with an entrepreneurial spirit, the funds are managed based on fundamental bottom-up research and conviction-based stock picking as part of a well-structured investment process.

 

Responsible Investment at Thematics

The Responsible Investment (RI) team is in-charge of managing the responsible investment strategy of Thematics AM. It defines the company’s overall RI strategy and monitors the implementation of sustainability-related policies across the investment funds. Among its responsibilities are: developing and enhancing the company’s sustainable investing framework, providing expertise to the investment team, reporting and disclosure on ESG performance, and generating original and critical thought leadership materials. The team also provides support to Portfolio Managers in their ESG analysis or company engagements, monitor the sustainable investment landscape on regulatory and market developments to inform Thematics AM’s policy and product strategy, and helping drive ESG communication and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

·  Support the ESG team in its daily tasks and on-going projects
·  Work closely with the ESG and Climate specialists in RI policy developments and enhancements
·  Provide key support in company ESG engagements – analysis, engaging, monitoring and tracking
·  Regularly carry out data analysis for reporting and disclosure, as well as for portfolio risk analysis
·  Participate in the development of ESG specific-content for clients and marketing
·  Provide support to Portfolio Managers on ESG-specific research
·  Help generate ESG thought leadership contents

Profil et compétences requises

Candidate profile
o Post-graduate students, preferably with a degree in sustainability, environmental science, or finance with specialism in environmental or social economics.
o Preferably with internship experience in ESG or sustainability research
o Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
o Advanced proficiency in Excel and interest in data analytics
o Skills or strong interest in design and digital marketing a plus
o Strong work ethic with the ability to work in high-pressure, multi-cultural environment

Strong interest in sustainable investing, independence, excellent writing abilities, and some Excel and data analytics skills, will be real assets to succeed in this role. The successful candidate must demonstrate dynamism, eagerness to learn, and can-do attitude. The candidate must show team spirit, resilience and a passion for delivering results.
