Plan Review Intern
California Code Check, a Bureau Veritas company seeks to hire an Engineer Intern.
The Internship Program is designed to accomplish the following:
· To provide a method of identifying and training potential future code professionals
· To encourage participating interns to pursue a career as a code professional
Summary:
This position combines on-the-job experience and mentoring to prepare individuals for a career as a code professional. The Code Compliance Intern will perform a variety of duties in order to gain skills and professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to use equipment such as laptop computer, desktop computer, cell phone, office phone, and internet browser.
· Ability to climb stairs, stand and stoop.
· Ability to communicate effectively through verbal speech by phone and in-person.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to communicate effectively in writing by email and by letter.
· Ability to read and interpret the Code of Ordinances.
· Ability to use reasoning to identify conclusions.
· Ability to plan and prioritize work for the day and meet deadlines.
· Ability to change priorities as needed.
· Ability to work collaboratively.
Requirements
Education:
· Currently enrolled in, or graduated from, an accredited four year college or university with major course work in Architectural, Civil Engineering or construction
Work Experience:
· Currently working (or recently worked) in the architectural, engineering or construction fields
Other requirements:
· Valid driver’s license and availability of a properly insured automobile for use on the job throughout employment
· Can perform light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
