Job summary

Roles & Responsibilities

The Claims Department exists to provide an oversight and risk function to review and manage interest claims on behalf of our Investment managers. To assist with core processing function.

This support includes:

·
Working with Custodians and Brokers to resolve claim.

·
Working with the Client.

·
Clearing Cash Breaks.

·
Working together as a Team to achieve the same Goals.

·
Clear and Defined escalation points.

This is a position on the BP2S Interest Claims team and candidates are required to have good investigation ability for FX/MM and Securities. We need candidates to manage closely existing and new interest claims by logging/investigating and issuing claims in a timely manner received from internal and external counterparts. Client KPIs need to be met each month.

Primary Responsibilities

Investigation skills

Good understanding of operational/market processes for all instrument types

Attention to detail, completing good narrative on claims history.

FX/Security settlements experience.

Good communication, internally and externally.

Liaising with clients, brokers, custodians.

Ability to keep focused.

Work within a team environment.

·
Swift knowledge (cash and security swift message types).

·
Ownership and responsible for clearing any relevant reconciliation breaks

Mailbox monitoring and allocation of claims

·
Taking corrective measures/action in consultation with the Manager.

People Management.

Knowledge and skills required

·
Good working knowledge of the transaction types securities/FX and MM

·
Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.

·
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.

·
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS-Word & Excel skills required.

·
To be based in Chennai and prepared to travel as required.

·
Must be prepared to work in any shift supporting Asia/Americas/European business hours.

·
Identify Operational Risk Areas within the Client Business Revenue Process.

·
Supervise, Monitor, Control and Co-ordinate all activities in the department.

·
Lead and motivate the employees in the department

·
Identify and develop succession plan.

Job requirements

Educational qualification : Graduation/ Post Graduation with specialization in Commerce or Finance

Total years of experience : 6-8 years of experience from a fund manager /custodian / broker background.

Relevant years of experience : Minimum of 4-5 years

Number of staff supervised : Minimum of 8-10 members
