What would you be doing?

As a Graduate Network Engineer in our internal IT Support team you will use your knowledge to provide high quality ICT support to the VINCI Energies UK & ROI customers. Once you have received guidance and training, you will support the day to day security of systems and devices and work with the service desk to provide assistance to end users and troubleshooting networking issues.

As a Graduate Network Engineer, the type of day-to-day activities you can expect to get involved in include:

• Provide high quality, 2nd/3rd line technical support for the ICT service desk; recording all calls and activities within the service desk tool
• Support and undertaking ICT project work
• Provide effective ICT technical problem solving, supporting wider teams
• Assist in identifying and sharing opportunities for service improvement or development of new ICT systems and services.
• Always following and supporting standard operating processes and policies.
• Escalate calls or technical issues internally or to third parties as appropriate, in line with our service level agreements
• Undertake research to help solve ICT problems
• Successfully completing graduate training with support from the wider team and HR

Desired profile

What are we looking for from you?

• BA/BSC Degree in Computer Networking, ideally the degree will cover some the following units:
  • Databases and Computer Networks
  • Mathematics and Concepts for Computational Thinking
  • Principles of Information Security
  • Principles of Programming and Data Structures
  • Switching and Routing
  • Advanced Networking
  • Research Methodologies and Emerging Technologies
• Social and Professional Project Management
• Great organisational skills
• Good time management with the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Committed to ongoing training
• Great communication skills, both written and oral
• Able to work on own initiative
• Experience working in a professional environment
• Good eye for detail
• Passion for technology and IT
