The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. Within the Group, you will join the Group Underwriting Office, a newly created department to steer the performance of our insurance portfolio and support our reinforced focus on technical excellence. The platform will also contribute to define our global ambition and approach to new emerging risks related to the energy transition and cyber in the coming years.

Within this Department, you will be part of the Group CUO Transformation and Operations, a newly created strategic function (& trusted partner) within AXA GUO and AXA GIE; enabling the GUO Organisation, through partnership, collaboration, support and a continuous improvement / simplification mindset.

Our goal is to empower and simplify our organization, improve engagement across the AXA Group (GIE), underwriting community & create a meaningful, measurable impact. We do this by consistently collaborating with key stakeholders across AXA GIE functions, GUO and entities to drive the strategic priorities, with a disciplined approach, change management, clear communication and investing in our key strategic priorities.

This role is located in Madrid.

YOUR JOB AND DAILY MISSIONS:

Job purpose

The job purpose is to create and drive a strong internal Technical Underwriting Governance, Risks & Controls communications strategy, associated tools, and assets creation to support our Technical Platform Strategy. The key stakeholders are the GUO Leadership team, and their Teams and the AXA Group / GIE, AXA entities and the Group Communications.

Context & Major Challenges

The newly created Global Chief Underwriting Office is accountable for establishing, enabling, and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for Commercial, Retail, Life, Savings & Health.

The CUO Transformation & Operations team, under the leadership of the Head of Group CUO Transformation & Operations, is responsible for driving the strategy of CUO & its execution at all levels.

Key Accountabilities

Working with Group UW Governance & Performance Senior Manager, Group CUO Transformation & Operations Leadership Team and AXA GUO Leadership Team, as necessary, you will be accountable for:

  • Development and implementation of GUO Technical Underwriting Platform Governance (Risks & Controls) Communications Framework in support of the GUO Technical Excellence strategic roadmap.
  • Deliver communications plan and assets for critical UW Governance and Risk Appetite updates in support of our strategy.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of GUO Technical Underwriting Governance (Risks & Controls) Communications Tools, including:
    • The development and ownership of communication Tools, including GUO Intranet site, communication email tools to support communication of all Underwriting matters (Rules & Guidelines, Policy, and Standard changes, etc). Ensuring efficient management of central sites/platforms including Intranet.
    • Ensure consistency of the GUO SharePoint site(s) (and other platforms) ecosystem, with the objective of simplifying and homogenising our Communication tools and usages.
    • Develop a strategy for how GUO stores and communicates Underwriting Risk Appetite changes with the entities, support in the cascading of Group Standards, Policies, Rules & Guidelines, withdrawal from Products etc, ensuring that communications are compliant with local regulations e.g., communications translated into all necessary languages, as necessary. Working with key stakeholders to support successful adoption / implementation of changes.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of GUO Technical Excellence / Underwriting Governance Communications Asset creation:
    • Plan, edit, write, and manage engaging global internal Technical Underwriting communications and campaigns across a variety of communication platforms (intranet, email, Microsoft Teams, Town Halls, etc). to support the GUO Technical Underwriting Platform and successful deployment of changes to Business Underwriting Risk Appetite.
    • Develop / support global internal presentations, scripts, messages for senior leaders as required.
  • Additional responsibilities:
    • Ensure the effective delivery of regular and ad hoc GUO reporting on Technical UW Platform communications delivery and communications KPI / Insights on communications sent (emails and Rules & Guidelines read and clicks to intranet site(s))
    • Act as a contact for AXA Group Communication, Brand & Sustainability function o Work closely with AXA Group CUO stakeholders’, and AXA Group Communication, Brand & Sustainability function to identify, plan and support internal communications.
    • Play a supporting role in the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives, as directed by the Head of Group CUO Transformation & Operations
    • Support the AXA Group Chief Underwriting Officer’s, Chief of staff with the following tasks when required:
      • Events organization (townhall, seminar)
      • Organise, co-ordinate and facilitate the GUO LT weekly meetings (including, Building the Agenda’s (asking GUO LT for Agenda items), ensuring pre-read material is circulated in advance and circulating minutes/actions)
      • Organise, co-ordinate and facilitate the GUO ExCom monthly committees (including, Building the Agenda’s (asking GUO LT for Agenda items), ensuring pre-read material is circulated in advance and circulating minutes/actions)
      • Build and send out the quarterly GUO Newsletter
      • Work with the Chief Underwriting Officer’s personal assistant to pro-actively prepare for meetings and speeches
    • Plus other ad hoc tasks as required.
