Job description
We are looking for a Finance Data Engineer F/M to join AXA Partners Financial Department.
What you’ll be doing:
BI Development and Implementation
· Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models
· Create and maintain data flows and datasets in Power B
· Implement DAX calculations and measures for financial reporting
· Ensure optimal performance of BI solutions
· Develop and document BI best practices and standards
Data Pipeline Development
· Build and maintain data pipelines using Shine and Pegasus platforms
· Create efficient ETL/ELT processes for BI data preparation
· Implement data quality checks and validation procedures
· Optimize data models for BI performance
· Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports
Process Improvement and Innovation
· Identify opportunities for BI process automation
· Implement innovative visualization solutions
· Contribute to the standardization of reporting practices
· Design reusable components for BI development
· Research and propose new BI technologies and approaches
Quality and Governance
· Implement BI development standards and best practices
· Ensure proper data security and access control in BI tools
· Maintain documentation for BI solutions and data models
· Support data governance initiatives
· Monitor and optimize BI solution performance
Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
· Provide BI expertise and guidance to team members
· Train end-users on BI tools and capabilities
· Participate in knowledge sharing sessions
· Stay current with BI technology trends and best practices
· Contribute to the BI community within AXA Partners

What you’ll bring:
Technical Skills
· Business Intelligence & Visualization
· Advanced expertise in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Dataflows)
· Strong experience in data visualization best practices (UI, UX, etc.)
· Knowledge of data modeling for BI applications
· Understanding of BI architecture and performance optimization
· Data BI Engineering
· Proficiency in ETL/ELT methodologies and tools
· Strong SQL skills and data manipulation expertise
· Experience with data platforms and data lakes (preferably Azure)
· Understanding of data integration patterns
· Development & Tools
· Experience with Azure DevOps and version control
· Knowledge of Python for data processing
· Familiarity with Spark and distributed computing
· Understanding of data quality frameworks
Business & Industry Knowledge
· Understanding of financial processes and metrics (accounting, controlling)
· Knowledge of insurance industry (preferred)
· Familiarity with data governance principles
· Understanding of data security and compliance requirements
Soft Skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to work effectively in an agile environment
· Demonstrated ability to mentor and support team members
· Strong documentation and knowledge sharing capabilities
Required Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Data BI Engineering/BI development
· Proven track record of delivering BI solutions at scale
· Experience working with financial data and reporting
· Background in agile development methodologies
Desired Experience
· Experience with AXA's data platform (Shine/Pegasus)
· Knowledge of insurance industry data models
· Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Azure)
· Experience in DataOps practices
· Background in financial services industry
· Hybrid working model combining office and remote work
