Thank you for your interest in this role! This application is for our brand new Local store on Reading Station Road, that will be opening on the 30th January 2025. It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of a fresh team set to serve the people of Reading!
The store will be manned from 0400 until 2300 7 days a week. Availability will will be discussed at interview, so please come prepared to discuss this. A range of contracted hours will be available, starting from 12 hours upwards. Shifts would be between 4 to 8 hours in length. These are some example shifts 04:00-10:00, 06:00-12:00, 12:00-18:00 15:00-23:00, 19:00-23:00.
Interviews will take place at Sainsbury’s Reading Friar Street store.
Training will take place prior to the opening date in 1 of our existing Reading stores, Reading Friar Street, Reading Broad Street, and Reading Lower Early Local.

From stocking shelves to serving customers to helping unload deliveries, you’ll support across the store where we need you the most. In this fast-paced, energetic and hands-on role, you can help us make good food joyful to all our customers. There’s no better time to join our team and be part of the festive season excitement.
It's a fast-paced role so you will need to be comfortable being active, including lifting and moving heavy shopping containers, as well as being confident working with new technology. Whilst you will be part of a close-knit team, we’ll also trust you to work alone and use your initiative.
Whichever area of the store you’re working in, you’ll take pride in doing the right thing for our customers, have a keen eye for detail and be passionate about helping people to provide a brilliant service.

The minimum application age for this role is 18, due to the type of goods (alcohol, tobacco, etc) that you may be required to handle.
