Please note - This is a 6 month FTC vacancy

The primary purpose of this role is to support the operational efficiency of the Technology Division. This will be achieved by the creation and maintenance of Tech for Tech reporting associated with three broad areas that the Technology Operations team works on: Operational Performance, Workforce Management, Cost Optimisation. You will develop a deep understanding of these areas to enable you to enhance the insights required.

This role will also support with configuration changes in our portfolio management tooling. This role has a high focus on data integrity driving the divisions balanced scorecard, workforce data and financial planning, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Technology Operations team and the wider business goals of Sainsbury’s.

What I am accountable for 

  • Reporting and Analysis: Creating and maintaining Tech for Tech reports to provide insights into technology performance and trends. 
  • Tool Configuration: Configuring and updating portfolio management tooling to ensure it is driving value and meeting user needs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with various departments to gather and compile necessary data for reporting and analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to reporting processes and tools.
  • Data Integrity: Ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reports and configurations.
  • Communication: Communicating findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Meetings and Discussions: Participating in regular meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support and Training: Providing support and training to team members on the use of reporting tools and processes.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of reporting tools and processes, making recommendations for enhancements as needed.
  • Data Quality Feedback: Feeding back data quality issues to the process owners to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy.

What I need to know 

Essential

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience with portfolio management tools and financial planning processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of Sainsbury’s technology systems and processes.
  • Certification in data analysis 
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices.
  • Previous experience in a technology or operations role.
