What you'll do
As a Service Manager within Sainsbury's Tech, you will have a crucial role in the transformation of our technology delivery. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, your responsibility will be to run the technology service provision for your specific area, ensuring the operational excellence of run services across a large portfolio of products. You will collaborate with stakeholders, service providers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure that service meets the required standards, while also driving a culture of personal accountability and ownership within your Engineering team. Your role will involve managing incidents, problems, changes, and availability and capacity management, as well as delivering service reviews, contributing to service strategies, and assessing service transition tasks for new solutions. Furthermore, you will provide support for risk management, contribute to the vision for a common service measurement approach, and assist in the transition to full End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management. Your success will depend on your ability to build collaborative relationships, demonstrate leadership and make independent decisions, deliver customer-oriented service, adapt to changing requirements, and effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Who you are
As a Service Manager for Sainsbury's Tech, you are a highly skilled and experienced professional with a deep understanding of service management in the context of technology delivery. You are accountable for ensuring the operational excellence of services within your designated area, partnering with stakeholders, service providers, and engineering teams to meet the required standards and deliver exceptional customer service. With your strong knowledge of ITIL service management framework, agile and waterfall methodologies, and technology concepts, you effectively manage and maintain services, driving a culture of personal accountability and ownership within your engineering team. Your proactive and adaptable approach, along with your excellent communication and influencing skills, enable you to collaborate cross-functionally, make informed decisions, and drive continuous improvement in alignment with Sainsbury's business transformation goals.
