Why join us
Working for a 150-year-old retail chain may seem unconventional, but at Sainsbury's, we are on an incredible journey of transformation. We are changing the way we operate, embracing nimble thinking and giving our teams the freedom to push boundaries and create amazing systems and technologies. As a professional, you have the opportunity to bring fresh energy, experience, and inspiration to our vibrant and collaborative environment. We encourage our teams to be themselves and take pride in making a real difference to the lives of millions of customers. In the role of Project Support Manager, you will be part of the largest Supply Chain Transformation programme in Sainsbury's and Argos history, ensuring the successful delivery of projects. With a flexible and adaptable approach, you will contribute to the execution of change activities, ensuring timely and budget-driven implementation. Join us and be part of an organisation that values innovation, teamwork, and making incredible experiences a reality.
What you'll be doing
As a Project Support Manager, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of projects as part of the largest Supply Chain Transformation programme ever completed across Sainsbury's and Argos. Your main responsibility will be to provide comprehensive support in the execution of day-to-day change project activities, ensuring that new business capabilities are delivered on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding target expectations. Operating within the framework of best-in-class Project Management and Agile Methodology, you will act as the first line of support throughout various projects, assisting with the compilation of reports, project governance documents, compliance audits, and KPI benefits. By distributing these to key stakeholders, you will provide a valuable reference point for queries and help limit the occurrence of single points of failure. Your ability to engage and motivate teams and stakeholders, coupled with your understanding of project governance, will enable you to influence at all levels and ensure project scope and deliverables are effectively communicated. Additionally, you will work closely with key stakeholders and relevant teams, prioritising customer outcomes to inform decision-making, while also employing your strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to gather and model data, develop and build process maps, and implement impactful changes that simplify processes and drive positive outcomes.
Who you are
As a Project Support Manager, you are a highly motivated and proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment. With your ability to engage and motivate teams, as well as influence stakeholders at all levels, you play a crucial role in driving project scope and deliverables. Your previous experience in technical or supply chain projects, along with your understanding of project governance, enables you to effectively support the execution of day-to-day change project activities. Your exceptional communication skills allow you to engage and inspire colleagues, ensuring a thorough understanding of processes and implementing changes to simplify operations. With your experience in data gathering and modeling, as well as your strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, you contribute to the success of our largest Supply Chain Transformation program, making a tangible impact on our customers' experiences.
