In a nutshell 

You will be working in one of the fastest growing and dynamic areas of Sainsbury’s and supporting us in delivering an exceptional digital experience for all our customers. 

You will work collaboratively with Sainsbury’s and Nectar360 teams to execute customer-centric activity for our suppliers across Sainsbury’s Digital platforms and deliver our shared commercial business plans. You will be responsible for your share of c£11m in supplier revenue; aligned to some of the largest global food suppliers.  

You will support the Ecommerce Client Director in the evolution of our digital solutions for suppliers, working with teams to develop an industry-leading suite of options. 

What you need to do 

  • Accountable for the management and delivery of supplier media and activation for the categories within your business unit across Sainsbury’s relevant Digital platforms. 
  • Positioned in the Nectar360 Digital team you will work with the broader Nectar360 teams (Client Services, Digital, Planning, Data & Analytics and Retail Consultancy) to engage suppliers, sell Sainsbury’s Online media and other activity within the defined guardrails .
  • Work collaboratively with the largest Sainsbury’s FMCG suppliers to understand their activation plans, core objectives / KPIs and support them to plan and deliver the optimum execution across Sainsbury’s Online.
  • Create clear revenue strategies for your clients and brands within the wider category, ensuring periodic and annual revenue targets are met.
  • Collaborate with key trading colleagues to ensure we optimise our key supplier’s annual or ad hoc Digital investment and track their spend against these commitments.
  • Ensure that supplier’s activity is aligned to Sainsbury’s Digital strategy and complimentary to the central Content Plan.
  • Work with relevant Optimisation teams to analyse performance and ensure continued improvement of performance against key metrics. 
  • Attend relevant planning and insight days with category teams, with Nectar360 colleagues and key suppliers.
  • Work collaboratively with key category suppliers, Digital colleagues and Nectar360 teams to review performance, investment and strategy.
  • Proactively provide eCommerce Client Director with regular updates client, project and revenue status.
  • Direct line management of a team of 2 Ecommerce Senior Client Executives.

What you need to know 

  • Previous client management experience, ideally in retail or FMCG 
  • Experience of building and delivering plans aligned to the corporate strategy
  • Ability to manage projects on time 
  • Experience working in a fast moving and pressured environment  
  • Strong analytical and numerical capabilities 
  • Strong communication & presentations skills 
  • Line Management Experience 

Desirable 

  • Experience of programmatic retail media – Citrus Ad, Amazon Advertising or equivalent 
  • Experience working within or with an online retailer

  • Commercial acumen to deliver on our commercial plan.
  • Ability to lead and own client relationships.
  • A good negotiator, able to satisfy varying needs in the face of conflicting demands. 
  • Great planning and prioritising skills in order to deliver plans to deadline. 
  • High level of customer focus and ability to work with others.
  • A proactive and can-do attitude that accepts change in a fast moving environment. 
  • Anticipating next steps and future risks and opportunities within your area, taking actions to address them in the absence of a given structure.
  • Ownership of making changes and courage to try out new things at a personal and team level.
  • Flexing your style and managing messages for your team and stakeholders in order to get traction within and outside your team.
  • Effectively communicating and building trust to execute on an agenda
