What you'll do
As the Savoury Snacking Buyer at Sainsbury's, you will play a vital role in ensuring that we get the best products at the best prices to deliver quality and value to our customers, working alongside some of the largest household brands in the food industry. You will own, deliver, and optimise the buying and selling strategy for each segment, with the responsibility of driving sustainable market share growth and cash profit through a competitive and distinctive customer offer. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to review product ranges, identifying opportunities for new product listings, development, branded activations and cost savings. You will make key decisions in both the Buying Strategy and Selling Strategy, influencing stakeholders and using financial, market, and customer data to drive a market-leading product range & trade plan. Additionally, you will manage a broad number of supplier relationships (branded and own label), and lead cross-functional projects to deliver successful outcomes. With your strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and effective communication, you will be critical in supporting Sainsbury’s to win in the market and deliver our mission to deliver ‘Good Food for All of Us’.
Who you are
As a Buyer, you are an experienced professional with a proven track record in negotiating/influencing, you are able to build strong cross functional relationships quickly both internally and externally. You have a strong commercial acumen, with an eye for detail, which allows you to develop and execute customer-focused category plans aligned with the company's strategy, aiming to sustainably grow market share and cash profit. You mix your ability to analyse financial, market and customer data, with innovative new ideas to disrupt the market and bring best in class propositions to our customers; all supported through effective buying and selling strategies that you build collaboratively with your suppliers. With excellent communication skills, adaptability, and resilience, you navigate complex information, influence stakeholders, and lead relevant projects to successful delivery.
