Title: Software Development Engineer III

Worksite: Seattle, WA

Position Responsibilities:

Drive the system architecture and development of new and existing features for embedded systems and tools using embedded software languages like C/C++ and supported scripting languages (like Python). Gather business and functional requirements from internal and/or external customers and end-users, and translate requirements into technical specifications to design, develop and verify firmware and drivers for embedded systems that work well between a range of complex systems. Serve as technical lead throughout the full development lifecycle, end-to-end, from scoping, planning, conception, prototyping, design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery and maintenance. Provide design reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture, API development, and design issues, as well as integration, performance and maintainability. Deliver the required development plans and status reports, architectural documents, design specs, software and firmware source code, and build scripts as needed. Collaborate with both software and hardware product teams to deliver new and innovative system solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Position Requirements:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and two years of experience in the job offered, or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master's degree and two years of experience. Must have two years of experience in the following skill(s): (1.) providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle; and (2.) designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded software applications, tools, systems or services using C++, C#, C, or Java.
