The Food Production Manager II is an experienced front-line manager and functions as a leader in our food production facility with a singular focus on delighting our customers. Our team takes great pride in maintaining the highest food standards in the industry and you will be tasked with teaching and coaching your staff to focus on maintaining uncompromising food quality standards through constant coaching and development. You will oversee the production of ready-to-eat food items prepared through various preparation methods and will need a relentlessly high quality bar and uncompromising attention to associate and food safety.
The Food Production Manager II contributes to making our food production facility a great place to work, has proven team leadership skills, and is comfortable working in a dynamic environment while ensuring the team is able to follow our systems and processes with unfailing consistency. We seek an individual that successfully meets daily and weekly goals, is a subject matter expert on all aspects of food production, and possesses a passion for leading a team. In this role, the Food Production Manager II would work to maximize quality, productivity and associate happiness. In addition, the Food Production Manager II is the designated person in charge as required by the Department of Health. This person is comfortable working in a physical environment, can lift up to 49 pounds and be on their feet for a shift up to 10 hours at a time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Duties include:
· Manage kitchen staff, including setting a schedule for their workgroup, training and coaching associates to quality standards, observing and providing feedback on performance
· Follow all audit and checklist procedures
· Taste produced food and meals to ensure quality. Ensure proper rotation of ingredients, make sure that all kitchen equipment is safe, clean, and in working condition
· Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed. Help with developing SOP's as requirements change
· Ensure food is always maintained at correct temperatures and storage to ensure food quality and safety
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen as needed
· Assist the receiving associate in determining the quality of ingredients being received
· First shift position (6:00am start), including weekends and holidays
· Work in low temperature environment for extended periods of time
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 4+ years of experience in a food manufacturing setting, with at least 2 years as a manager
· Experience with various methods of food preparation, including scratch cooking, multi-component food prep, working with frozen products, portioning and various packaging methods
· Ability to audit and assess food quality, exact portioning weights, following packaging procedures
· Knowledge and experience managing food safety regulations and training
· Ability to obtain a valid Washington state food worker card
