The Amazon Operations (Customer Fulfillment) Finance team located in Munich is seeking a Financial Analyst in our central Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to support our fast growing supply chain and fulfillment network in Germany, Poland and Czech Republic subsumed as the region Middle Europe (MEU). You will support the overall region and EU Senior leadership as an advisor enabling and driving impactful decision making for our business. As part of this role, you will have strong interaction with the MEU Operations and Supply Chain organization as well as other local and European Finance teams. In this role, you will influence and drive decisions and perform impactful financial analysis, planning and control activities for the MEU fulfillment center (FC) network that will support strategic initiatives that fuel Amazon's future growth. You will also transform and improve current finance processes (e.g. for planning, reporting and month-end close) to increase efficiency across the MEU Operations Finance team. This position will be located in our corporate headquarter in Munich with infrequent travel to local FCs across MEU.

Key responsibilities:
The role will have broad responsibility for bringing analytic rigor to the process of evaluating and influencing operating performance. The Senior Financial Analyst FP&A MEU will specifically:
· Perform analysis for our Operations fulfillment network key performance drivers.
· Provide senior management with insightful analysis to better understand the key financial and business metrics.
· Enhance the financial reporting financial acumen of the broader organization and drive improved performance management in Operations and better decision making.
· Drive excellence and transform existing FP&A processes (e.g. via automation, simplification, centralization, standardization) to better address business needs and to drive scale.
· Ensure effective collaboration across departments and adapt our mechanisms effectively as Amazon constantly grows its network of fulfilment centers.
· Perform analysis to support expansion projects, new business initiatives, FC network topology, identify supply chain inefficiencies and run ad hoc analysis (e.g. on productivity across FCs).
· Develop, own and manage cost out processes with local operations and finance teams.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
· 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting or related field.
· Highly analytical mindset with advanced problem-solving skills.
· Intellectually curious with strong bias to action, strong ability to take initiative and self-start when necessary.
· Results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality.
· Strong business acumen including potential impact of business decisions on various internal/external stakeholders and financial metrics.
· Advanced Excel, financial modelling and reporting skills required.
· Effective and excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
· Basic to good understanding of accounting concepts (US GAAP and HGB).
