Who will you be joining?
Our Group Accounting & Reporting (GAR) team is located in Munich Schwabing and is a key function within Allianz SE, responsible for providing reliable, high-quality financial information to management, investors, analysts, and the public through our Quarterly and Annual Reports. We play a critical role in analyzing financial data from subsidiaries and ensuring adherence to regulations such as IFRS and Solvency II. How can you make an impact?
As a working student, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to various activities and projects that ensure the financial integrity of Allianz Group. Your role will involve analyzing and validating financial data, safeguarding Allianz Group's financials, and supporting the preparation of group annual and interim financial reports, as well as other internal financial reports. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing our financial reporting processes.
Key responsibilities
- Reporting & Closing Operations: Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for Allianz Group in accordance with IFRS and consolidated market value figures according to Solvency II. Engage in monthly closing activities, including preparing forecasts for senior management, and support the verification of yearly plan closings to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy of financial data of international subsidiaries ensuring adherence to the highest standards in financial reporting
- Data Analysis: Work with SAP and larger Excel-based data sets to provide insights and ensure data accuracy for internal and external reporting purposes
- Project Support: Participate in projects aimed at optimizing internal processes and introducing new analysis tools, such as supporting in the implementing SAP S/4HANA
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with accounting and controlling functions across the globe, ensuring seamless integration and accuracy in financial reporting. Engage independently and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Learning: Acquire knowledge of accounting concepts, processes, and tools, applying this knowledge to contribute effectively to the team
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. If you are planning on starting a Master's program after the completion of your Bachelor's degree, please indicate this in your cover letter
- Previous experience in finance-related functions, such as accounting, controlling, audit, consulting etc.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential for preparing and interpreting data. You should be comfortable working with Excel and have a keen eye for detail. SAP experience is a plus
- Fluent in English, with German language skills being a plus
- High motivation and willingness to learn, with a structured, independent, reliable, and precise working style

Preferred Qualifications
- Initial knowledge of international accounting (IFRS)
- Ability to convey complex issues clearly and succintly, both in writing and verbal
- Genuine interest in accounting and the insurance industry
- Experience in analysis, reporting and insurance business is an advantage
- Analytical, numerical and adaptive problem-solving skills, using logical and methodological approach
- Good communication & presentation skills
- Pro-active working style
- Self-motivation and eagerness to learn (including new tools and methodologies i.e., prompt engineering, Agile)
- Ability to work in an international environment in a matrix organization
Additional Information
- Duration: Starting immediately, for at least one year (extension welcome)
- Working hours: Up to 20 hours per week (flexible setup)
- Hybrid working model: You should be available to work from our Munich office at least twice per month
