JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Job Purpose:
The World Collection Network (WCN) Coordinator is the liaison between the international contracted partners / business units and the domestic policy holders / clients. He/she is responsible for overseeing and tracking the collection activities of the international contracted partners / business units on export, solvent, insolvent, pre-legal and legal files.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assign each case with the appropriate international partner for collection - Monitor and track the status of the collection efforts of the international partners
- Validate and enter legal and / or external costs (court/suit fees or collection agency costs) into the Collection system and obtain approval for these costs from the appropriate stakeholder
- Comply with organizational standards and operational guidelines
- Request additional / missing documentation to aid collection efforts when necessary
- Advise policy holders, brokers, clients and service providers on appropriate next steps for the pre-legal and / or legal collection process and answer their questions
- Inform appropriate Stakeholder on the pre-legal or legal collection process and on any developments / status
- Monitor and confirm expected payments made directly to the policyholder, client, service users (other business units) or external partners (ex attorneys) so that they can be appropriately recorded on the case
- Ensure a smooth exchange of information amongst all involved domestic and international parties
- Collect on accounts where local assistance is not available and / or where rates are not sufficient to cover the cost of contracting an external partner
- Provide detailed updates on cases totaling >$500K on a monthly basis or when requested
- Communicate the authentication for legalization process of documents efficiently and assist all stakeholders
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Associate's Degree
3-5 years of experience in collections, claims or paralegal
Bilingual: excellent communication skills in English & Spanish, both spoken and written
Market knowledge:
• Understands laws pertaining to collections
• Some knowledge of credit insurance industry is desired
Interpersonal skills:
• Strong oral and written communicator
• Must be firm, fair, composed and focused
• Self-motivated
• Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task - Ability to understand and explain the legal process, it's status and next steps - Must be organized and detail oriented - Timely response to requests and follow ups
- Multicultural exposure
- Organization of multiple levels of information
- Must be able to simplify complex situations for client's understanding and benefit
