The primary purpose of this role is to lead the WPI team in delivering high-quality claims management, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, meeting contractual obligations and agreed timeframes, and achieving key customer and client outcomes. The role drives an efficient and effective operating model, building sustained capability within the team to consistently meet performance measures and support positive financial and customer results.
About the role
- Lead the WPI team to ensure high-quality claims management that meets all regulatory, legislative, and contractual requirements, while achieving agreed timeframes and delivering positive client and customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with Claims teams to identify opportunities and implement strategies for achieving WPI targets and improving outcomes.
- Drive innovation, simplification, and productivity improvements to enhance customer experience.
- Work with Claims teams to identify and address employer and agency practices contributing to higher WPI outcomes, aiming to reduce treatment needs, support earlier recovery, and improve claim results.
- Manage legal provider performance and collaborate with Claims teams to enhance awareness of WPI processes and requirements, providing guidance for improved outcomes.
About you
- Extensive experience in people leadership and bodily injury claims management within a complex matrixed insurance organization.
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or industry accreditations.
- In-depth understanding of claims management models, cost drivers, and the laws, rules, and regulations governing claim practices.
- Proven ability to effectively partner with business leaders and build strong professional relationships across the enterprise.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex and ambiguous issues, with the ability to translate strategic planning into commercial operations, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills for impactful and influential communication.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
