About the Job
As the Tax Manager at Allianz Technology, you will hold central ownership of VAT matters across our international IT group, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with global tax standards. You will be responsible for defining and continuously improving group-wide VAT standards and processes, assessing complex VAT topics related to digital business models, and supporting local entities in VAT compliance and audits. Additionally, you will oversee tax reporting under local GAAP and IFRS, manage GloBE/Pillar II coordination, and take end-to-end responsibility for Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR). Your role will involve close collaboration with Group Tax, Finance, Controlling, and Accounting during the close process, and you will provide tax support for strategic projects and international reorganizations.
What you do
- VAT – Group-Level Ownership:
- Central ownership of VAT matters across the international IT group, defining and improving group-wide VAT standards and processes.
- Assess complex VAT topics related to digital business models (SaaS, cloud, software licensing, platforms).
- Support and steer local entities regarding VAT compliance, audits, and special cases.
- Serve as the group-level contact for VAT questions and external advisors.
- Tax Reporting – Group Control:
- Responsible for tax reporting under local GAAP and IFRS, ensuring quality assurance of tax reporting packages from international entities.
- Analyze group ETR, permanent and temporary differences, and cash tax development.
- Collaborate closely with Group Tax, Finance, Controlling, and Accounting during the close process.
- GloBE / Pillar II – Group Ownership:
- Coordinate data collection from international subsidiaries and calculate/review the GloBE effective tax rate and potential top-up taxes.
- Manage external advisors and ensure audit-ready documentation.
- Advise management on implications for tax strategy, governance, and group structures.
- Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR):
- End-to-end responsibility for group-wide CbCR.
- Governance & Strategic Projects:
- Provide tax support for international reorganizations, IT-related business model changes, and M&A projects.
- Monitor international tax developments with a focus on digitalization.
What you bring
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a comparable field, preferably with a focus on taxation.
- Several years of senior-level experience in an international group, tax advisory, or the IT sector.
- Strong expertise in VAT (especially digital services), tax reporting, GloBE/Pillar II, and CbCR.
- Proven experience in managing international stakeholders and decentralized structures.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and tax/reporting tools.
- Strategic mindset, high level of ownership, and strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English; German would be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
