Your Team  

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of engineering and scientific disciplines. The team offers a comprehensive suite of liability technical risk consulting services tailored to address various risks, including manufacturing processes, operational risks, supply chain disruptions, construction projects, environmental pollution, natural hazards, and human and organizational risk factors. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help optimize risk management procedures in the long term.

The Impact You Will Have  

Reporting to the ARC Liability Regional Manager, North America, this position will provide Reporting to the ARC Liability Regional Manager, North America, this position will provide vital risk assessment and consulting services to AzC Underwriters and our large corporate clients about complicate technical risks, leveraging experience, expertise, and data. Offer expert recommendations on risk selection and retention, aligned with AzC’s risk appetite by conducting desk-top assessments, engaging in risk dialogues, and performing on-site surveys for current and prospective clients. Actively contribute to the appraisal and development of casualty products, serve as a primary regional contact for liability risks, and deliver presentations and training sessions as needed.

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Conduct and deliver comprehensive desktop reviews and risk assessments, both pre- and post-loss, to support underwriting by evaluating and summarizing technical exposures and risk mitigation controls related to product manufacturing, supply chain management, business operations, and projects. This analysis examines how these exposures impact General Liability, Product Liability, and other liability sublines
  • Carry out risk dialogues or site surveys, when required, to obtain missing information and data to identify and evaluate hazards involved in complex operations related with large accounts, project development, multiple client sites, or multi line operations and communicate findings with appropriate stakeholders
  • Evaluate liability exposures related to a business or an activity based on the existing regulatory framework, industry best practices, ARC risk guidelines, AzC risk tolerance, internal guidelines (Functional Rules) and common sense; summarize identified risks and mitigation controls to provide to liability underwriters with technical reports, insights, and qualitative risk ratings
  • Deliver scientific and technical insights and consulting on current and emerging liability risks associated with product manufacturing, food industry, and new technologies, such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, battery systems, and automotive products, supporting AzC functions—including Underwriting, Claims, and Distribution—by simplifying complex technical narratives to enhance understanding and decision-making
  • Develop and maintain clear communications with Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, ARC LoBs, and Business Development colleagues on both regional and global level
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills and expertise in their Engineering / Technical field to support global business development
  • Provide technical training to UWing teams or ARC cross-LoBs on specific or emerging risks
  • Actively contribute to ARC Liability projects that support Allianz Commercial transformation and digitalization.
  • Contribute in the development and implement all available digital tools, including AI and data analytics, to enhance risk assessments and improve efficiency.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role  

  • Minimum 7 years’ professional engineering or technical consulting experience in industrial or project development environments within Manufacturing, Automotive, or Food industries. Additional professional experience in another discipline is an asset.
  • Through education or experience have demonstrable knowledge and skills in relevant disciplines including engineering in product development, food and beverage industry, production management, supply chain management, regulatory compliance, health and safety systems, environmental management, and occupational hygiene.
  • Experience working in risk management and loss prevention processes in industrial operations or in project driven environments.
  • Knowledge of Standardization Systems (ISO, API, ASME, etc) and auditing processes.
  • Basic data analytic experience in analyzing datasets related to loss prevention in the corresponding engineering discipline
  • Master’s Degree in either Process, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Manufacturing, Systems, Automation and Robotics, Quality, or Process Engineering (other engineering or scientific disciplines will be considered if they align with the rest of the requirements)
  • Or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in other area will be considered in conjunction with extensive technical experience
  • A demonstrable engineering/technical expertise. Able to work technical loss control topics.
  • Commitment to maintaining knowledge of developments and new technologies in field.
  • Knowledge of the business-related liability legal environment, regulations, guidelines as they apply to the North America (USA and Canada) businesses and projects
  • Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail. Strong verbal communication abilities with the ability to present technical information with clarity into a varied business environment. Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Competent user of the Office365 environment; understanding of principles of Data Analytics and  keen user of AI agents
  • The ability to utilize AI tools to support day-today tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making is valuable. A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role, and the broader organization is expected.
  • Ability to travel extensively.

The annualized base pay range for this role is $98,700 to $169,800. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
