Job description
As a Senior AI Engineer (f/m/d), you will play a leading role in designing and delivering enterprise‑grade Generative AI (GenAI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications that transform operational workflows across the Asset Management business. This role combines hands‑on engineering with architectural leadership, driving innovation from early prototyping through scalable production deployment.
You will collaborate closely with Operations teams, process SMEs, and technology partners to translate complex business challenges into robust, secure, and scalable AI solutions. Beyond solution delivery, you will help define best practices in AI engineering, mentor colleagues, and champion responsible AI adoption across the organization.
The position will be preferably based in Frankfurt, Munich or Hong Kong, but global applications are welcome.
What you will do
AI Architecture & Engineering
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable full-stack GenAI and ML applications supporting Operations use cases in Asset Management
- Build and integrate data pipelines, retrieval and embedding workflows, and evaluation frameworks for LLM and RAG‑based systems
- Define technical standards and best practices for AI engineering, including security, scalability, and performance
- Design and implement robust integration layers that connect AI components with enterprise platforms and operational processes
- Drive technology readiness assessments, prototype validation, and the industrialization of successful AI solutions into production‑grade platforms
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams through design reviews, pair‑programming, and code quality standards
- Establish and promote best practices for AI engineering, including security, scalability, performance optimization, and observability
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with SMEs, product owners, and technology leads to shape AI solution design and architectural direction
Responsible AI & Governance
- Champion responsible AI principles, ensuring all solutions incorporate appropriate governance, documentation, risk controls, and model evaluation standards
- Ensure alignment with compliance, operational integrity, and data‑protection requirements across all AI components
What you bring
- University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science or related fields
- 10+ years of full‑stack application development experience
- 3+ years of hands‑on GenAI and ML application development
- Industry experience in Investment Banking or Asset Management is preferred
- 3+ years working in agile development teams
- Strong proficiency in Python, including ML/GenAI libraries and frameworks such as LangChain, FastAPI, Semantic Kernel, and AutoGen
- Deep hands‑on experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, embeddings, prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), LLMOps, MLOps, vibecoding, and reinforcement learning
- Expertise in modern web development—React, TypeScript, Node.js—and experience delivering both front‑end and back‑end components
- Experience working with vector databases (Azure AI Search, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, pgvector, Chroma, Milvus)
- Knowledge of containerization and cloud‑native engineering, particularly with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services
- Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Experience with DevOps and Agile toolchains: Harness, GitHub, JFrog, Jira, Datadog
- Ability to build automated tests (unit & integration) using frameworks such as pytest and Playwright
- Understanding of component‑based architecture, state management, and intuitive UX design principles
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
- Ability to translate conceptual ideas and business requirements into clear technical solutions
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving orientation with a creative mindset
- Ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel tasks
