The AllianzGI Private Markets platform manages over EUR 100bn across multiple private equity and private debt strategies, spanning direct and indirect investments, including large infrastructure equity and debt portfolios. München
As Private Markets continues to scale in size and complexity, we are strengthening our risk analytics, data, and reporting capabilities. We are hiring a Risk Analytics & Data Specialist– Private Markets to take ownership of data-driven risk reporting, analytics, and stress-testing across the Private Markets platform, and to play a key role in shaping the future state of risk reporting data and technology. Notably, this also includes exploring and leveraging AI-based tools for risk reporting and the oversight processes in Private Markets risk management.
This is a highly interconnected, hands-on role at the intersection of risk management, data, systems, and innovation, working closely with risk managers, investment teams, IT, and central functions across the firm.
What you will do
- Design, produce, and continuously enhance risk analytics and reporting for Private Markets portfolios across equity and debt strategies
- Develop cross-strategy views of risk exposures, concentrations, sensitivities, and key risk drivers
- Own the preparation and evolution of regular management and board-level risk reporting, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and meaningful insight
- Support ad-hoc analytical requests related to portfolio risk, stress events, and market developments
- Take ownership of risk-relevant data for Private Markets, working across multiple source systems, Excel-based datasets, front office systems and external providers
- Identify, map, and document data sources, data gaps, and data quality issues
- Build pragmatic solutions to consolidate and reconcile data across fragmented systems, balancing automation with manual processes where needed
- Act as a key interface with central data and IT teams to explore and leverage existing firm-wide platforms and tools
- Contribute to defining the target data architecture for Private Markets risk, with a focus on scalability and robustness
- Own and further develop stress-testing methodologies for Private Markets portfolios, reflecting the specific characteristics of illiquid assets
- Evaluate and support the selection and onboarding of external stress-testing tools where appropriate
- Design and implement tailored scenarios (macro, sectoral, climate, interest rate, inflation, liquidity) across strategies
- Actively contribute to the firm’s AI and data digitisation ambitions from a Private Markets risk perspective
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, insight, and scalability — including exploring ways to use GenAI to modernize existing workflows
- Serve as a thought partner to the Head of Private Markets Risk on the future evolution of private markets risk analytics and the team’s AI adoption roadmap
- Incorporate AI-driven enhancements into risk processes by developing structured prompt templates (“prompt engineering”), testing new GenAI capabilities, and supporting the creation of simple AI-assisted workflows or agents where relevant
What you bring
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related analytical discipline
- Relevant experience in risk management, analytics, data management, or reporting, ideally within private markets, asset management, or financial services, through full-time work or internships
- Strong interest in data management, systems, and analytics, with a willingness to work hands-on with non-standardized data from multiple sources
- Strong analytical skills supported by advanced use of Excel and the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Query), as well as SQL skills for querying and transforming data. Confidence working with large and complex spreadsheets
- Ability to work with inconsistent or incomplete data while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly proactive, curious, and comfortable operating in an evolving environment
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to build structure where none exists
- Written and oral fluency in English required, working knowledge of German is a plus
- Interest in Generative AI and its application to risk analytics and data workflows, including a willingness to learn structured prompting (“prompt engineering”) and experiment with tools such as Microsoft Copilot
- Ability to translate analytical or reporting challenges into potential AI use cases and contribute to the development of AI‑enabled process improvement
