The Product Contract Group is at the front-end of driving results, delivering innovative products to customers, and contributing to the financial strength of the company. One of the Product Contract Group’s primary roles is to draft contract forms for new or enhanced products and obtain state regulatory approval for their use, ensuring the forms are compliant with applicable regulations and consistent with the company’s objectives.

 

As a Product Contracting Associate, you are responsible for the drafting and regulatory filings of annuity and life insurance products. This includes learning our products (i.e., registered index-linked annuities, fixed indexed annuities, and indexed universal life insurance), leading product contract drafting initiatives, preparing and submitting filings, communicating with regulators and internal business partners to address any filing questions, analyzing state regulations, and monitoring Department of Insurance (DOI) filing statuses. You will report to the Product Contracting Senior Manager.

 

What you do:

  • Filing & Process Management:
    • Prepare and manage regulatory filings to obtain timely state approvals of contract forms, including creating new filings, reviewing team member’s filings, and facilitating communication with internal stakeholders and external regulators.
    • Drive the team's productivity through proactive process management, including activity tracking and metrics, document retention, and other process-related activities.
    • Actively monitor the status of filings with DOI (via SERFF).
    • Maintain and enhance the team’s operation processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Problem Solving & Influence
    • Build strong, collaborative relationships with business partners (actuarial, legal, product content & delivery, etc).
    • Proactively identify roadblocks and collaborate with the team to develop practical solutions.
  • Drafting & Project Management:
    • Build a general understanding of Allianz products, including their benefits, differentiators, and unique features.
    • Lead or contribute to the drafting of new or revised contract forms, applying efficient and innovative drafting strategies.
    • Maintain a repository of state-specific contract language to ensure contract forms comply with each state’s regulatory requirements.
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).

 

What you bring:

  • 0-1 years of experience required: Basic knowledge of contract drafting and regulatory research
  • Advanced degree required: Must hold a JD or obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Strong desire for team environment
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.
