Job Purpose Role

 

As a Pricing Actuary with Allianz Direct, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing competitive pricing strategies that align with our business goals. Your role involves creating robust pricing models, analysing data trends, and providing insights to guide decision-making.
You will collaborate with underwriting, product development, finance, and sales teams to ensure pricing strategies support broader business objectives. Your analytical expertise will help evaluate risk factors and set pricing that balances competitiveness with profitability.
A key part of your role is analysing market dynamics and customer behaviour to refine pricing models. You will work with stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure pricing strategies align with Allianz Direct's strategic ambitions and drive technical excellence.

 

 

Key Responsibilities for a Junior Pricing Actuary

 

·  Contribute to Pricing Strategy Development: Actively participate in the creation and implementation of pricing strategies, offering insights and recommendations to support business objectives.
·  Conduct Data Analysis and Model Development: Perform detailed data analysis and contribute to the development and refinement of pricing models using Python, Emblem and Radar, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.
·  Engage in Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including underwriting and finance, to support pricing initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
·  Monitor and Report on Pricing Performance: Independently track and analyse pricing KPIs, providing comprehensive insights and reports to inform strategic decision-making.
·  Continuous Improvement and Development: Take initiative in pursuing professional development opportunities, expanding expertise in pricing and insurance products, and contributing to team innovation.

 

Qualifications/Key Skills for a Junior Pricing Actuary

 

·  Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and modelling, with familiarity in Python and SQL to support pricing decisions.
·  Effective Communication Skills: Ability to convey ideas clearly and work collaboratively with team members across the organization.
·  Technical Learning Aptitude: Willingness to learn and use tools like Databricks and GitHub for data management and collaboration.
·  Educational Background: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
·  Curiosity and Customer Focus: Eagerness to understand market dynamics and customer needs, with a proactive approach to learning and innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities for a Senior Pricing Actuary (3+ years of experience)

 

·  Lead Pricing Strategy Development: Drive the creation and execution of advanced pricing strategies that align with Allianz Direct's business objectives and enhance profitability.
·  Advanced Data Analysis and Model Optimization: Conduct complex data analysis and refine pricing models using Python, SQL, and Databricks to ensure risk-adjusted pricing.
·  Cross-functional Leadership: Lead collaborative efforts with underwriting, finance, product development, and sales teams to integrate pricing strategies with broader business objectives.
·  Monitor and Optimize Pricing Performance: Set targets, track, and analyse pricing KPIs, providing detailed insights and reports to optimize pricing strategies and align with strategic goals.
·  Mentoring and Development: Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth and enhancing team capabilities in pricing and analytical work.

Qualifications/Key Skills for a Senior Pricing Actuary (3+ years of experience)

 

·  Advanced Analytical Expertise: Strong proficiency in data analysis and modelling, with experience using Radar, Emblem, and Python for strategic pricing decisions.
·  Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and lead collaborative efforts across diverse teams and stakeholders.
·  Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with Databricks for data management and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
·  Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing and implementing pricing strategies that enhance profitability and align with business objectives.
·  Educational Background: Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, providing a solid foundation for advanced analytical and strategic work.
