Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer

About the Job  

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and solution-oriented Platform Engineer with expertise in Azure, Terraform, Azure networking, and DevOps; preferably also Dedicated SQL knowledge, to join our team at Allianz Technology. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and automating our infrastructure code at scale, while effectively solving complex problems from start to finish.

 

 

What you do

 

·  Design, develop, maintain, and optimize robust and scalable IT platforms, with a focus on Azure Synapse and other Azure services, to meet business needs and performance standards.
·  Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Terraform; manage and optimize Azure SQL Server environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
·  Develop and maintain programs, including stored procedures, functions, and queries, to support various business needs; utilize SQLPackages (dacpac/Data-tier applications) for database deployment and management.
·  Review and improve code written by other team members to ensure best practices and performance standards; develop and maintain PowerShell for automation, Azure modules, and error handling.
·  Ensure compliance with internal standards, security concepts, and operational requirements.
·  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that meet business requirements.
·  Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure Data and MS-SQL technologies and services, and best practices, advising on their implementation.

 

 

What you bring

 

·  Proficiency in Terraform, PowerShell, YAML/JSON file formats, Python,
·  Networking, and security hardening, version control systems (Git), Jenkins, Azure DevOps, SQL, SQL Package (DACPAC, data-tier applications for DB deployment),
·  GitHub Actions/Workflows, Azure Data Factory, Entra, Azure Synapse
·  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
