About the job

As a PL/1 Batch Developer, you will design and implement PL/1-based business applications. Collaborate with product owners and team members to understand customer requirements and support software implementation. Your role involves enhancing functionalities, contributing to development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation to ensure reliable solutions. Additionally, maintain program libraries and technical documentation, driving innovation and excellence within the team.

What you do

Take end-to-end responsibility for the technical design and implementation of PL/1-based business applications.
Collaborate with product owners and team members to understand customer business requirements and provide consultation and support for software implementation.
Design and implement Batch Applications in PL/1, utilizing development frameworks to customize, replace, and extend functionalities.
Contribute to development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation, ensuring stable environments and reliable, fault-tolerant solutions.
Support quality engineering by maintaining program libraries and technical documentation, and enhancing deployed applications.

What you bring

Strong knowledge and experience working with PL/1.
Basic knowledge of Linux operating system and standard Linux commands (e.g., vi editor, grep), along with experience in version management systems (e.g., GIT) and technical documentation of batch processes (preferably in Rochade).
Excellent communication skills in German and English, both verbal and written, with the flexibility to travel to Vienna.
Team-oriented, problem-solving attitude and resourceful mindset, making you a valuable addition to the team.
Basic knowledge of Java is a plus, including understanding of interfaces, abstract classes, generics, threads, JDBC, collections framework, and exception handling.
