Position Summary

 

This role consists of ensuring the accounting data quality and managing specific accounting calculations, closing review, regulatory reporting and accounting systems administration for the entities / business units under responsibility. On an ad hoc basis, the Middle Office Accounting Expert shall be assigned to participate as an Expert key user in Accounting transformation projects, including but not limited to IT system rollout, process harmonization and new business tender & onboarding.

 

 

Key Result Areas

 

Accounting Calculations

·  Perform the calculations related to Bad Debts.
·  Perform the calculations related Provisions and accruals.
·  Perform the calculations related Fixed Asset

 

 

Closing Review

·  Ensure data quality, accuracy and timeliness of the postings done into the accounting systems,
·  evaluation of performance of different departments (AP/AR etc) and delivering feedback on that aims improve work of Transactional Accounting
·  Perform Sanity Check on Suspense Account, premiums/service revenue/claims/commissions, payroll, investments, FX and Tax
·  Ensure Closing Quality Assurance and the compliance with standard booking schemes and the global accounting policy
·  Perform review of balance sheet reconciliations
·  Monitor and report progress of the closing
·  Supervise / Perform ECCS upload
·  Perform post-mortem review of the closing review process to identify, monitor and resolve issues and design and implement improvements to the process.

 

Regulatory Reporting

·  Statutory Reporting.
·  Regulatory Reporting.
·  Specific Reporting.

 

Accounting systems administration

·  Access Rights Management, including assignment of new groups, set-up of new accounts and users
·  GRP: Set-up & Configuration, Tables Management, Interfaces Management
·  Incident Management

 

Other responsibilities

·  Coordination with other teams involved in closing, reporting or accounting transformation projects
·  Expert key user in Accounting transformation projects, including but not limited to IT system rollout, process harmonization and new business tender & onboarding
·  Other accounting duties related to month-end closing or ad-hoc accounting topics
